Man accused of accidentally firing shot into Clay apartment

Clay, N.Y. — A man was arrested after accidentally firing a shot Saturday evening into an apartment in Clay, deputies said. Alejandro Cruz appears to have accidentally discharged a ghost gun into an apartment below him while he was handling the weapon, according to Deputy Doug Roser, a spokesperson for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. A person in the downstairs apartment told 911 that they heard the shot, and then found a hole in the ceiling with a projectile in the wall, Roser said. The incident was reported at about 10 p.m. Saturday at the apartment building at 10 Grampian Road.
