A 70-year-old man was shot in what police believe was a robbery that turned deadly in Fayetteville. According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers were called for a welfare check around 7:50 p.m. on Friday to the area of Pelt Drive and Carlyle Drive. Upon arrival, officers said they found Odis Norris, 70, of Fayetteville, shot to death at the scene. According to the arrest warrant, police said Watson stole "Wallet and Cards of the value of $20.00 from the person and presence of Odis Norris." Officers said Watson remains in the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond.
