Man arrested in Manassas shootout that killed girl, 16, had lengthy criminal history

A man arrested in connection with a downtown Manassas shootout Friday that killed a 16-year-old Patriot High School student has a lengthy criminal history, according to the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. SEE ALSO | 16-year-old killed in Manassas shooting was Patriot High School student Authorities said Tasheem Rashad Douglas , 21, who was charged in the shooting, had been arrested several times before Friday’s deadly incident. The Commonwealth’s Attorney said Douglas was previously arrested on charges including trespassing, assault and battery, brandishing a firearm, shoplifting, petit larceny and other firearm-related offenses. Those arrests occurred between September 2023 and May 2026, including an alleged probation violation in April. Douglas was wounded in the exchange and taken to a hospital.
