KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Lee's Summit man has been charged after an AMBER Alert was issued Monday afternoon. Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced Wednesday that Justin A. Smith faces one count of parental kidnapping and one count of first-degree harassment. According to court records, Smith took the 9-month-old child from the home he shares with the child's mother on Aug. Smith is the child's biological father, but he does not have custody of her.
