According to the affidavit, Rontavious Dillard was charged with second degree murder, possessing a firearm while committing a dangerous felony, two counts of being a convicted felon in possession of handgun, and tampering with evidence. Court documents show that Memphis Police officers were called to Jardin Place just before 8:00 Sunday evening for a shooting call. The affidavit shows that Dillard had called 911 himself, saying his girlfriend, Nyla Howell, had been shot.
