Man dies after shooting at apartment complex; victim, suspect had several disputes

CARROLLTON, Ga. — A man is dead after a shooting at the Magnolia Lakes Apartments in Carrollton. The Carrollton Police Department say they responded to a person shot call around 8:23 p.m. When they arrived, they found 24-year-old Malachi Smith shot. Investigators say 28-year-old Matthew Durrett, who was also on the scene, identified himself as the person who shot Smith. Smith was transported to a local hospital, where he died.
