Man fatally shot outside apartment complex in southwest Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department is investigating a shooting in southwest Houston that left one man dead. HPD said officers were called to 6345 Windswept Lane near the Southwest Freeway at about 1 a.m. Police said two men were drinking outside an apartment complex when another man approached and shot one of the men. The victim who was shot was taken to the hospital, where he later died, authorities said. HPD said the suspect fled the scene.
