SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man was found dead following an apartment fire on Watt Avenue, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. The fire started in a unit on the complex's first floor in the 3500 block of Watt and spread to additional units on the second and third floors. Officials said 27 units were impacted, with three sustaining burn damage, as people were ordered to shelter in place. The man was found dead on the first floor where the fire started, according to the fire district. One firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
