Man found shot in crashed vehicle, woman shot multiple times in separate Cleveland killings

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Two people were killed in separate shootings in Cleveland on Saturday, including a man who was found with a gunshot wound after his vehicle overturned and a woman who was shot multiple times. The shootings happened during the Labor Day weekend. In the first incident, Cleveland police responded around 5:40 a.m. to a report of a vehicle crash near East 125th Street and Cornado Avenue, authorities said. Jovan Varner, 41, of Cleveland, was found fatally shot in a vehicle overturned on its side, according to police and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. Paramedics transported Varner to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where he later died, according to the medical examiner.
