A man was shot and killed by Federal Way police Thursday evening after officers said he pointed a gun at them outside The Commons mall. Multiple people called 911 around 6:40 p.m. to report a man armed with a gun who was pointing it at people in the mall parking lot, according to the Federal Way Police Department. Police said one caller reported the man said he was waiting for officers to arrive. The man was described as being in his 20s or 30s. Federal Way police said officers arrived a short time later and attempted to contact the man.
