Man on e-bike critically injured in Northeast Philly crash, officials say

A man has been hospitalized in critical condition, police said, after striking a vehicle while riding an e-bike in Northeast Philly on Labor Day. According to police, a man riding an e-bike was headed eastbound on Cottman Avenue at about 7:24 p.m. on Monday when the rider -- who officials did not immediately provide additional identifying information on -- struck the passenger side door of a 2016 silver Toyota Corolla as it was turning left onto Brous Avenue from Cottman Avenue. In this incident, officials said, the man on the e-bike suffered head trauma and internal injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition. A man and woman in the Corolla, police said, were not harmed in the crash.
