PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A man shot by Border Patrol agents in Portland earlier this year was sentenced on Wednesday by a federal judge after pleading guilty to damaging federal property. As part of a plea agreement, 33-year-old Luis Nino-Moncada was sentenced to time served and ordered to pay $24,413 in restitution. Nino-Moncada also admitted to being in the United States illegally and has also agreed to be deported. The case stems from a confrontation between Nino-Moncada and DHS agents in the Adventist Health parking lot back on Jan. According to court documents, the federal agents used a rental car to block Nino-Moncada in his parking spot.
