CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Maple Heights man accused of fatally shooting a man on Cleveland’s West Side last year pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges including aggravated murder. Jerome Henderson, 38, entered the plea in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court after a grand jury indicted him in connection with the July 26, 2025, killing of Jesse Anderson , 32, of Cleveland. The indictment charges Henderson with aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault and having weapons while under disability. Henderson was arrested on Sept. 1, and a Cuyahoga County grand jury returned the indictment last week, court records show.

Anderson was found dead July 26, 2025, near the parking lot of a restaurant in the 2200 block of Broadview Road on Cleveland’s West Side. Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Mollie Ann Murphy set bond at $1 million and ordered that he have no contact with the victim’s family.
