Michael Kearns, ‘Cheers’ actor and AIDS activist, dies at 76

Freddie Jackson, the R&B vocalist behind hits “You Are My Lady” and “Rock Me Tonight (For Old Times Sake),” died Monday night at age 69, according to an announcement posted to his Instagram account Tuesday. Jackson’s death came three days after his 69th birthday. An official cause of death has not been released, though Jackson had been battling kidney disease. “It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Freddie Jackson,” the statement read, noting that Jackson loved his fans, family, friends and music.
