Middletown North field hockey uses first quarter goal to take down Hunterdon Central

Ireland McCauley scored the game’s only goal as Middletown North edged Hunterdon Central 1-0 in Middletown. McCauley found the back of the cage in the first quarter off an assist from Livy Williamson, providing all the offense Middletown North would need. Middletown North (5-3) managed seven shots on goal and converted one of its five penalty corner attempts. Hunterdon Central (2-4) generated 10 shots on goal and earned five penalty corners but couldn’t break through. In goal, Paige Marrone made 11 saves to secure the shutout for Middletown North. Grace deVelder stopped six shots for Hunterdon Central. McCauley also recorded a defensive save for Middletown North in the victory
