Mifflin County man wanted for shooting captured after Pennsylvania Turnpike chase
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- A local man wanted on multiple attempted homicide charges stemming from a shooting was taken into custody after leading a chase on the Pennsylvania Turnpike early Friday morning. Pennsylvania State Police said in court documents that a Trooper clocked Kio Dejesus-Pena, 42, of Lewistown, traveling at 80 mph in a posted 70 mph zone by mile marker 279 in West Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, just before 3 a.m. The Trooper activated their lights and siren and attempted to pull over Dejesus-Pena, who was driving a 2008 Honda Accord, according to the criminal complaint. Troopers set up a tire deflation device at the exit for the Reading Interchange after Dejesus-Pena failed to stop. Three other Troopers also chased Dejesus-Pena, who eventually came to a stop on the off-ramp to the interchange after three tires on his car were deflated.
