A downed plane was reported in the area of County Road 633 near Blair Townhall Road, according to a Facebook post about 2 p.m. Thursday from Grand Traverse County dispatchers. Less than two hours later, emergency management for the county was calling on everyone to evacuate within one mile of the site. Officials had previously called for residents to shelter in place.
