The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office provided an update on a deputy and K9 who were injured after someone crashed into their squad car in Oak Creek Monday morning. According to the sheriff's office, Deputy Mindel and 6-year-old K9 partner Ryker were inside their squad car trying to block lanes to redirect traffic and protect those involved in another crash when a different driver slammed into them. This happened around 4:30 a.m. near Interstate 94 north at Drexel Avenue. The sheriff's office said the driver claimed they were tired after a long road trip.
