Milwaukee mother charged in suffocation death of 7-month-old

Critton, 22, accused of repeated acts of physical abuse Prosecutors have charged a 22-year-old Milwaukee woman with killing her 7-month-old. Critton faces a charge of physical abuse of a child, repeated acts causing death. The charge stems from a July 27 incident that brought first responders to a Milwaukee home for a report of an unresponsive child. According to the criminal complaint, Critton called 911 at 11:20 a.m. and told the dispatcher, "my seven-month-old is not moving" and she is "not responding to anything." Emergency personnel arrived to find the infant pulseless and not breathing. After 20 minutes of CPR, responders regained a faint pulse and rushed the child to Children's Wisconsin.
