NEW YORK — Another division title was clinched Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium with the Tampa Bay Rays wrapping up the AL East crown with a 6-1 win over the Yankees in Game 2 of a day-night doubleheader. The Rays also clinched the top seed in the AL after missing the playoffs the last two seasons with an 80-82 record in 2024 and a 77-85 mark last year. Before that, they were in the playoffs five years in a row, winning division titles in 2020 and 2021. The Yankees clinched the top wild card in the AL with a 2-0 victory in Game 1. -- The Astros shut out the Mariners 7-0 in Seattle to reclaim first place in the AL West ahead of the Rangers, who lost to the Mets 6-3 in Arlington, Texas.
