Monterey County Sheriff’s Office issues Amber Alert for 14-year-old in ‘Baby Angelita’ case
According to the Amber Alert, the two were last seen on Aug. 4 at approximately 2 a.m. in a white Nissan Altima with no license plates. Investigators say they discovered surveillance video that showed Perez and Ortega in a car in the Salinas area, confirming the two were together and allowing them to issue an Amber Alert. A warrant has already been issued for Perez, alleging multiple felonies including incest, lewd acts with a child under 14, lewd acts with a minor, unlawful sexual intercourse, child concealment and child endangerment. Perez is described in the release as a 38-year-old Hispanic male around 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

The press release confirms a brown van sent out in previous releases is already in custody of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
