NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno said the city must continue pushing to reduce shootings as police search for one of two men accused of exchanging gunfire near Canal Street and wounding a bystander . “We’ve had historic reductions in violent crime, but one shooting is too many. So, we have to keep pushing every single day to reduce the number of shootings we have here in the city,” Moreno said Tuesday, July 28. The New Orleans Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for both men accused in the Saturday night shooting near Canal and Carondelet streets, NOPD Eighth District Capt. Sammy Palumbo said.
