Mother, daughter killed in interstate crash with wrong-way driver, police say
Latest update from The Washington Post on MSN: The driver was charged with two counts of homicide by motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol. An 84-year-old New Jersey driver was killed Saturday in a crash at the traffic circle in Burlington County where state routes 70 and 72 meet, officials said. Donato was driving east on Route 70 in Woodland at 6:30 a.m. when he lost control of his car before entering the circle, State Police said. He ran off the road to the left, struck a curb and a directional road sign before the car continued east through the lanes of the traffic circle. Donato’s vehicle then ran off the road a second time, hitting another curb and sign before coming to a rest after slamming into a tree, authorities said. Donato, of Toms River, was pronounced dead at the scene.
