(DC News Now) -- A Germantown man is facing charges after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 270 left a mother and daughter dead, and two others, including a child, injured Saturday night. The investigation began around 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Maryland State Police troopers responded to the area of southbound I-270, just south of Democracy Boulevard, for two vehicles that had collided. There, troopers learned that 32-year-old Jose Caballero Nolasco was driving a Ford Mustang north in the southbound lanes of I-270 when he struck a Toyota Camry head-on, according to MSP.

As a result, authorities charged Nolasco with two counts of gross negligent manslaughter, two counts of homicide by motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, and one count of life-threatening injury by motor vehicle.
