Mother of two brothers killed in chemical tank implosion files lawsuit against Nippon Dynawave

LONGVIEW, Wash. (KPTV) - The first lawsuit has been filed over a deadly implosion at a Longview paper mill. The mother of two victims, 27-year-old Brad Covington and 29-year-old Tyler Covington, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Nippon Dynawave following a chemical tank implosion on May 26. The lawsuit says Brad and Tyler Covington had just arrived in the parking lot of the mill when the tank imploded. According to the lawsuit, the brothers were burned, crushed, and later died from the injuries they sustained. The lawsuit claims Nippon Dynawave Packaging Company and Nippon Paper Industries were negligent in several instances, including failing to maintain equipment, failing to properly supervise employees and agents, and failing to properly isolate and/or vent equipment.
