Motorcyclist killed in crash on Platte Avenue, another injured

One person was pronounced deceased and another was evaluated on scene after a crash near East Platte Avenue and North Chelton Road late Wednesday afternoon, according to a blotter entry by Colorado Springs police. A preliminary crash investigation found that a silver sedan making a left turn onto westbound East Platte Avenue fatally struck an eastbound motorcyclist. Both directions of East Platte Avenue were shut down for about an hour because of the crash, and one westbound lane opened around 5:30 p.m., CSPD posted on social media. The department advised drivers in the area seek an alterative route.
