Mountain Home shooting sends one person to hospital. Detectives seek witnesses

Law enforcement is seeking the public’s help in an investigation of a Mountain Home shooting. Deputies responded to a reported shooting about 10:16 p.m. on Saturday to the area of Friesians Lane, the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release on Monday. They located one person with a gunshot wound, and first responders transported the individual to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise for “treatment of non-life-threatening injuries,” the sheriff’s office said. Law enforcement said they have identified the shooter, but did not release the suspect’s name. “Based on the information obtained during the investigation, this appears to be an isolated incident,” the sheriff’s office said. “There is no known ongoing threat to the public.” Detectives asked that anyone who was at the scene during the shooting but left before law enforcement arrived to contact Elmore County Dispatch at (208) 587-2100. The sheriff’s office did not immediately respond to the Idaho Statesman’s request for more information.
