N.Y. woman pleads guilty in Atlantic City robbery that left N.J. man dead

The second of two people charged in the fatal shooting of an Atlantic City man during a robbery has pleaded guilty. Melissa Tikaram, 30, of Manlius, New York, pleaded guilty Wednesday to first-degree aggravated manslaughter and first-degree armed robbery before Superior Court Judge Pamela D’Arcy, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said in a press release. The plea calls for an aggregate 15-year sentence in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, meaning Tikaram must serve 85% of that sentence before she is eligible for parole. In pleading guilty, Tikaram admitted that on Jan. 20, 2024, during a robbery, her co-defendant, Howard Griswold, 26, of Baldwinsville, New York, shot and killed Christian Hunter, 32, of Atlantic City.
