NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Metro Nashville Police Department believe a 5-year-old boy died from an apparent accidental self-inflicted shooting on Saturday. Officers responded to Bison Court on Saturday just after 5 p.m. for reports of a shooting involving a juvenile. The child’s father said he was downstairs watching television when he heard a loud bang. He ran upstairs and found his son with a gunshot wound to the head. The boy was rushed to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital where he died.
