There's a new twist on the romance scam that’s duped more than two dozen women into coughing up more than a million dollars. The ruse?. A man named Daejon Love claimed to play for the San Franscisco 49ers , and he had an "investment deal" he just had to share. “What they're saying is, ‘Hey, I've been making great investments, generally with crypto, and I want to let you in on this,’” explained Steve Weisman, Bentley University professor and creator of scamicide.com . “And so that's what Love did.” He added, “His advisor was not registered, neither were the investments – they were all non-existent.” Weisman said Love never even changed his name.
