New video sheds light on Austin ICE shooting timeline

A vehicle is left in the street after an I.C.E. shooting at the intersection of Anderson Square and Research Boulevard on Sunday, Sep. 20, 2026 in North Austin. Minutes before a federal immigration agent shot and wounded a man Sunday in North Austin, the agent and his supervisor had pulled the man over in his blue Toyota sedan and were talking to him at the driver’s side window along a neighborhood street, video reviewed by the American-Stateman shows. The footage, now part of an Austin Police Department investigation into the shooting, shows two unmarked black SUVs at the scene – one in front and one behind the sedan – at 12:42 p.m. with emergency lights activated on the rear law enforcement vehicle.
