Newark welcomes return of downtown carousel: ‘I will ride it every day and every night’
Source Scout · NJ.com reports: A carousel custom-built for the City of Newark is once again merrily going round and round after a seven-year hiatus, drawing parents and children, high school sweethearts and others for free rides in the heart of the city’s downtown. “I will ride it every day and every night,” said 5-year-old Assata, a Newark kindergartener about to saddle up with her father on one of the 16 horses of the Military Park Carousel on Thursday. “I’m glad they finally reopened it,” said her father, Antawan, who asked that their family name not be used. “It’s good for the community.” The carousel is free and open to anyone.
