Norwegian man rollerblading across US hit, killed by car in Kansas

KANSAS, USA — A 24-year-old man from Norway was killed in a hit-and-run in Kansas while on his journey to rollerblade across the United States. Joachim Lanham, who called himself a transcontinental inline skater on social media, was on the 22nd day of his journey from New York City to Los Angeles, California, when he was hit by an SUV on Sept. 5, his family said in a post to his social media account . "Joachim was taken to the Salina Regional Health Center and then transferred to Wesley Medical Center ICU in Wichita, where he spent the next 6 days in a medically induced coma, being treated by the amazing staff," they wrote. "Sadly after a valiant fight his heart could not continue the fight any more." Lanham died Sept. 11 with his brother at his side, his family said.
