CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — The National Transportation Safety Board has determined that uneven terrain on a runway caused a small plane to crash into a body of water in Charleston County earlier this year. The crash occurred on March 31 in the Raven’s Run area of northern Charleston County. No injuries were reported. The flight instructor said that during takeoff, it felt as if the left main landing gear struck something, according to the NTSB report. The airplane then suddenly began a hard turn to the left, went past the runway, and crashed into a body of water.
