There is a large police presence near the Walmart and Sam’s Club stores in Northwest Dallas following reports of a shooting that injured an officer.It happened around 11 a.m. on Thursday in a shopping center off the LBJ Freeway near Midway Road. There are Walmart and Sam’s Club stores in that area.Images from SKY 4 showed dozens of police vehicles from multiple agencies in the store parking lot and in the alleyways near the scene. Crime scene tape surrounded a police vehicle and blood stains.Sources told FOX 4 the shooting involved an off-duty Dallas Independent School District officer, and the suspect was someone he had taken into custody. The officer was taken to Parkland Hospital with injuries that are critical, according to the sources.Official sources have not yet confirmed the shooting or that an officer was injured.
