Omaha police are investigating a shooting near 12th and Howard Streets early Sunday morning that left one man injured and resulted in several arrests. OPD said officers were already in the area when they heard ".what sounded like a gun battle" moving eastbound shortly after 1 a.m. As they responded, hundreds of people and several vehicles were seen fleeing in all directions. A 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound was located. Officers say they placed a tourniquet on his leg, then medics took him to the Nebraska Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
