One dead after I-55 crash in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating after a deadly crash in Lincoln County Thursday. MHP responded to reports of the crash on Interstate 55 at approximately 6:30 p.m. According to officials, 33-year-old Jordan Rushing of Brookhaven, Mississippi, was driving south in a 2019 Toyota RAV4 when the vehicle collided with a 2022 Freightliner occupied by 36-year-old Nigel Johnson of Rayne, Louisiana. The Freightliner was parked on the shoulder of I-55 at the time of the crash. Rushing received injuries in the crash and was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
