One dead, one arrested after Natchez shooting

NATCHEZ, Miss. (WLBT) - One person is dead after a shooting in Natchez Wednesday. According to Natchez Police Department officials, officers responded to reports of a shooting at a home on Hunters Lane. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found one victim, identified as 63-year-old Wilbert Riggs, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Riggs was taken to Merit Health Natchez but later died from his injuries. Over the course of the investigation, officials continued, 31-year-old Jasmine Buchanan was identified as a suspect in the shooting.
