One dead, one injured in crash following Huntsville police pursuit

Hundreds of cameras watch cars as they move around Huntsville each day - to the dismay of some drivers. But Huntsville police want to dispel what they say are myths about their use of Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) cameras, including Flock-brand monitors. City leaders and law enforcement recently held a meeting to discuss the city’s use of the technology. Curt Worshek, leader of the North Alabama Multi-Agency Crime Center, or NAMACC, a special investigation unit in the Huntsville Police Department, led the meeting. The meeting also included Huntsville Police Department Chief Kirk Giles and Public Information Officer Chris Jackson.
