One person is dead and others were injured in a collision that took place near the intersection of Torrey Pines Road and Prospect Street this week, leading to road closures on the busy thoroughfare. At around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, two vehicles collided, killing a passenger in one of the cars. San Diego Police Sgt. Joseph Underwood told the La Jolla Light that a 56-year-old male was driving a Land Rover northbound around the 1500 block of Torrey Pines Road and began to make a U-turn mid-block.
