Open Jim: What will it take to make you believe Wisconsin football has righted the ship?

Today’s Open Jim mailbag question comes from @wisconsinsane on X: If Wisconsin goes 7-5 or 8-4 this season on an easier schedule, w/a roster budget that more than doubled to $25M+, a high-profile transfer QB, and dozens of portal additions does that prove Luke Fickell has righted the ship, or does it merely confirm the program’s ceiling? Believe me when I say I’ve spent an outrageous amount of time this offseason thinking about what it would take this season to make me feel better about where this program is headed under Luke Fickell. All that, and I never really came to a solid conclusion. There are other variables to consider between now and the Badgers landing with a record that’s 7-5, 8-4 or something different. I touched on this in a recent column, but I want to evaluate whether the Badgers get better from Game 1 to Game 12.
