Overnight shooting in Charlotte becomes homicide investigation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A deadly shooting that claimed the life of a child is under investigation in northwest Charlotte. It happened early Sunday on Grassy Patch Lane. That’s in a neighborhood near Oakdale and Peachtree Roads. Officers responded to reports of shots being fired into occupied homes. MEDIC earlier said two people were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
