ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Alaska State Troopers have identified the two people killed in a plane crash in the Wrangell Mountains last week. Pilot Cabot Pitts, 42, of Palmer, and passenger Connor Helsel, 18, of Michigan, died when their Piper Cub crashed shortly after taking off from a dirt airstrip near Snag Creek Thursday night, troopers said. Next of kin notifications have been completed, according to troopers. The plane went down near the small community of Nabesna.
