Pat McAfee explains why critics may be underestimating Jason Kelce

Former NFL stars Pat McAfee and Jason Kelce have become two of the biggest personalities in football media since their playing careers ended. Now, one of them is pushing back against criticism aimed at the other. Kelce’s profile has continued to grow during the past year through his podcast, television appearances and expanded role on ESPN’s NFL coverage. He regularly appears on “Monday Night Countdown” alongside McAfee and other analysts before Monday Night Football games, Yahoo! Sports noted . Not everyone is a fan of the increased attention. Some NFL viewers have complained online that Kelce is appearing too often on football broadcasts and media platforms, HITC said . Those comments recently drew a response from McAfee, who defended his colleague and longtime NFL standout. Speaking on his show, McAfee reminded viewers that Kelce is more than a television personality. He pointed to Kelce’s accomplishments on the field, noting that many football fans consider the former Philadelphia Eagles center one of the best to ever play the position. McAfee argued that Kelce has earned the right to share his opinions about the game because of what he achieved during his career. Kelce retired after a standout NFL career that included a Super Bowl championship and multiple All-Pro selections.
