WEST ALLIS, Wis. — Pato O'Ward became the first driver in 45 years to win two IndyCar races on the same day while Alex Palou clinched his fifth career series title Sunday afternoon at the Milwaukee Mile. O'Ward took the checkered flag earlier in the afternoon during the "second" of two scheduled races at the historic mile oval on the grounds of the Wisconsin State Fair. He then went on to win "first" race of the doubleheader, which was suspended Saturday and pushed to Sunday evening. By sweeping both races, O'Ward became the first IndyCar driver to win two races on the same day since Rick Mears accomplished the feat at the Atlanta Motor Speedway back in 1981.
