Latest update from FOX19 | Cincinnati: 1 dead, 1 in custody after pedestrian hit in Roselawn - FOX19 | Cincinnati. SAN JOSE — A driver hit and killed a pedestrian Saturday in San Jose, police said. The incident happened around 12:15 a.m. on Curtner Avenue near Stone Avenue, just east of Highway 87, San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih said in a news release. Shih said an investigation revealed a man was crossing Curtner outside any marked crosswalk when he was struck by a 2016 Tesla Model X traveling west. State law allows crossings outside marked crosswalks or intersections if they can be completed safely and don’t create a traffic hazard. Medical personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
