A 17-year-old is fighting for his life after New Haven police say a fight escalated into a shooting. A 17-year-old from Torrington is in critical condition after a shooting in New Haven on Friday morning, New Haven Police Chief David Zanelli said. Around 8:30 a.m., officers were alerted by callers and ShotSpotter alerts to reports of a fight and a person who had been shot, according to Zanelli.
