Person injured after vehicle crashes into pole in South Park; hundreds without power

SOUTH PARK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A vehicle crashed into a pole in South Park Township, causing hundreds of homes to lose power. Allegheny County dispatchers say emergency crews were called to the area of Brownsville Road and Sylvania Drive at 7:02 p.m. on Monday. Allegheny County dispatchers initially told Channel 11 that a person had been taken to a hospital from the scene. Broughton Volunteer Fire Department officials said there were no reports of injuries. The crash left West Penn Power reporting over 700 customers without service in the area.
