Nepal warns of more flooding as the death toll rises to 750, with more than 3,000 people still missing in the region. Authorities in Nepal have warned of further flooding, urging residents in inundated districts to remain on high alert after water levels rose in the Bhotekoshi River. Flood alerts were sent to mobile phones on Sunday morning as rescue teams worked to clear a main highway linking Kathmandu with one of the areas worst hit by Wednesday’s catastrophic flash flood. The combined death toll in Nepal and China’s Tibet region has risen to 750, with more than 3,000 people still missing. Nepal’s disaster agency said the death toll there had climbed to 734, with 2,498 people missing, while Chinese authorities reported 16 deaths and 546 people unaccounted for, including more than 100 Nepalis and others from over a dozen countries.
