SEATTLE — The pilot of a Kenmore Air floatplane was trying to land and wait out inclement weather when the plane crash landed near the Strait of Georgia in July, according to a preliminary report. According to the report issued by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the pilot of the de Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter plane was heading for Roche Harbor when the pilot radioed operations to report the weather would prevent them from continuing on. The pilot reported there were multiple bays around Sucia Island where they could land. The pilot and two passengers were seriously injured. Eight other passengers sustained minor injuries.
